Questions about Chilton County criminal records usually belong with the government office that created the file. The contacts below route court papers to the Circuit Clerk, sheriff reports and booking material to the Sheriff's Office, and personal Alabama criminal history review to ALEA. This privately operated resource cannot accept a filing or issue a record.

This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.

Need an Official Record?

Use the record type to choose the proper Chilton County or Alabama office:

  • Arrest, booking, and jail material: use the Chilton County Sheriff's Office and jail channels
  • Court case files: review criminal court case records or call the Circuit Clerk division that handled the case
  • Police incident reports: ask the municipal police department or sheriff that wrote the report
  • Personal Alabama criminal history: apply to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency with Form 46
  • Expungement filings: file with the criminal division of Chilton County Circuit Court when that court is the proper venue
  • Registry records: search the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Sex Offender Registry

The Sheriff's Office does not publish a separately named records counter. Its documented route is the hand-delivered public-records form at Chilton County Sheriff's Office, 500 2nd Avenue North, Clanton, AL 35045, 205-755-4698, weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Circuit and District case requests go to Circuit Clerk Nick Burnett at the same courthouse, 205-755-4275. Choose option 2 for Circuit Criminal or option 1 for District Criminal; clerk hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Personal state-record review uses ALEA Form 46.
